| Domestic Violence
I am currently involved in an exciting new Domestic Violence Perpetrator programme at Hope Fellowship – Wigan seeking to end the violence and create a safer environment for all involved and bring about healing and behaviour change for these men and their families, having many years of experience with Domestic Violence I am looking forward to taking this programme further afield thus helping many more families and communities. Psycho-education will play a part in the project providing the men with an understanding of their behaviour, thought patterns and insecurities enabling them to make the choices for a more fulfilling non-violent future, to see this is attainable and the opportunity before them is life changing. We will be using both Strength based Models and CBT to work effectively with these service users.
Statistics 2009/2010 GMP figures show that in Wigan 18% of victims were Male and 13% of the offenders were female so by no means is this isolated to men however the support for male offenders is limited this project will address this. I also work with victims in my private practice.
